Tackle football information
Age, Weights and Levels of Competition
Boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 are eligible to play for the Ramblers (September 1st of the playing season is the age used for eligibility). There are seven different age/weight divisions of competition split into two levels of competition, Big-10 and Pac-10. While both are competitive the Big-10 emphasizes on competition at a highest level and include each member community's best and most capable players at each age level, while PAC-10 emphasizes on first year players, instruction, development and participation.
As a parent of a young athlete, you appreciate how dedicated coaching combined with a fun environment can make all the difference. We produce a sports experience that your child will talk about for years. Our excellent coaching staff has guided many kids up through the ranks of youth sports with tremendous success. In many cases, they've coached their own kids' teams - so they know first-hand how you feel. Your athlete will rave about their football and cheer experience when they spend it with the Kenosha Ramblers. We supply helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey, custom game jersey and 2 pair of game socks (you keep) with your registration fees. You must supply cleats, mouth guard and black, integrated football pants.
Flyweight: Ages 5-6, max 75lbs (only PAC-10)
Bantam: Ages 7-8, max 95lbs (max 105lbs striper)
Featherweight: Ages 9-10, max 105lbs (max 115lbs striper)
Middleweight: Ages 11-12, max 115lbs (max 125lbs striper)
Lightweight: Ages 13-14, max 125lbs (max 135lbs striper)
Jr Varsity: Ages 13-14, max 145lbs (max 200lbs striper)
Varsity: 14 years old, max 185lbs (unlimited striper)
